Ultrasound-guided surgery: a new approach to minimally invasive surgery

Ultrasound-guided surgery, or echosurgery, is an innovative technique that enables precise, less invasive surgery on the hand. Using real-time ultrasound, the surgeon can visualize internal structures and guide his or her actions with great precision.

What does this technique involve?

Ultrasurgery uses an ultrasound probe to obtain a real-time image of internal tissues. This makes it possible to:

  • Precisely locate the area to be treated

  • Avoid sensitive structures such as nerves or vessels

  • Perform surgical procedures with great precision.

This method is particularly useful for procedures such as carpal tunnel release, treatment of trigger finger or De Quervain's tendonitis.

What are the advantages?

Ultrasurgery offers a number of benefits:

  • A very small incision means fewer scars

  • Reducing the risk of complications

  • Faster recovery for the patient

  • Often performed in Office Surgery, without hospitalization.

By integrating this technique into his practice, Dr Couturier offers his patients care that is both modern and tissue-friendly, promoting a more comfortable convalescence.
